~* SPONGE COLA MADNESS *~

'Decided to brave the Midnight Madness crowd at Glorietta Ayala Center tonight. By 9pm, my feet were killing me. Was about to make a last round to scout for jeans when I was crossing the Activity Center on my way to People Are People and saw that Sponge Cola was playing for that Netopia thingiemajig. I stopped on my tracks and decided to weave through the thick Sponge Cola crowd. I haven't *ever* seen Yael Yuzon (and the rest of Sponge Cola) up close and I was extremely curious if he was really cute. Well, he is -- in a ruggedly handsome kind of way. Grunge-y kind of cute. And he sooo reminds me of Jason Wade (Lifehouse vocalist) with the way he looks and the way he sings. I was also wondering how Sponge Cola's music sounded beyond the pop KLSP and cult fave Crazy For You remake. I like it! I like Jeepney! I'm sold. I'll be getting their album one of these days.

yael yuzon (sponge cola) // jason wade (lifehouse)
P.S. got yael's photo fr. arlene's blog and yael's friendster

After the gig, I stood nearby and watched all the teenage girls flock over Yael. A handful were asking for autographs and photo-ops with the rest of the band but long after the others are done with the fans, Yael is still going, going, going... like an Energizer battery signing albums, smiling here, posing there, chatting with the fans... I think he pretty much intended to accommodate each and every one of the girls (If he always does this, then I commend him. Artists should always make time for fans.) So seeing that he was not in a hurry (about 20 mins. has probably passed), I decided to come over where Yael was when there were only about a handful of girls left. I waited until almost everyone was done and asked Yael for a pic when he was about to leave. I asked a trembling teenage girl to take our pic (as in I can see her hands trembling as she tried so hard to steady her grip on my celfone and take a decent pic:p ) Hence, the blurry pic... I just resized it so the blur wouldn't be too obvious... The gal probably melted on her knees right after. I, on the other hand, felt like a giddy teenage girl on my way home. Good gahhhd, I am twenty seven and I am getting giddy over a bente uno! Tsk, tsk.

with yael in all my sabog midnight madness glory

~* EVERYBODY HAS THEIR OWN DEEPEST DARKEST SECRET *~

I checked out Ala's blog this afternoon and found this blog site linked on one of her posts. I must say that (aside from the entertainment/comfort I get from reading the different secrets) the postcard artworks are very creative. I like it. The site has such a unique concept. It's a gallery of pure raw human emotions.

Hmm. I'm thinking of sending a postcard one of these days...

Some comments of people all over the world regarding the site:

"PostSecret: Humanity at its finest...And because of it, I am falling in love with the world again."
-Philippines

"Thank you so much for building a window into so many souls, even if it only shines light on the darkest part. That's the part that we need to see. It's the part that is most like us. And the light helps."
-Texas

"Each is a silent prayer of hope, love, fear, joy, pain, sorrow, guilt, happiness, hatred, confidence, strength, weakness and a million other things that we all share as human beings... there is no fakeness here.. it's the hidden deepest thoughts within us all... and it allows us to connect to our own selves more deeply..."

~* BEAUTY CAPTURED BY MY BELOVED NOKIA *~

Was at the office yesterday for our annual physical exam. I was mesmerized by the beauty of the lotus flowers blooming on our office's fish pond. I didn't have a digicam on hand so I took pictures with my Nokia. After the physical exam we headed to Market Market at the Fort to do some shopping and taste the Chico-and-Del-famous Razon's halo-halo. On our way out of The Fort, I noticed that the cirrus clouds were so pretty that noon time (cirrus and cumulus clouds are my fave photo subjects) so I decided to snap away from the backseat of our car. I sooo liked the perspective from where I sat...

Thank God for cellphone cameras.

~* FILM, FATS, HEAT and HALE *~

FILM

Two weeks ago, we had a camera test in one of the cam rental houses in Pasig. We had to test run our department's new 16mm Bolex camera which was to be rented out to student filmmakers this year. Director Robert Quebral (if I remember right, he did one of Parokya ni Edgar vids years ago...) was kind enough to facilitate the orientation and cam test. And since they needed a "model" to do the clapping in order to test the cam's speed (overcranking and undercranking), I gamely clapped in consistent speed for maybe like three or four different takes. Well at least technically I can now say that I had my film debut on 16mm! Haha! Hmm, it IS hot under those strong lights!

FATS

I have officially gained weight and I now consider myself fat. In the past years I've always been 95ish lbs. Now I am 105 lbs. And good gaaahd, my waist line is now 27 when it used to be 25. My officemates are happy though to see me gain weight as compared to skinny me when I entered Kodak 4 years ago. I have been constantly buying new office tops and pants coz *horror of horrors* I now have marshmallowy love handles and I don't fit in most of my pants anymore :( ! I have had incidents of my pants' butt part bursting at its seams and a zipper giving up on me. It's getting to be so expensive building up my wardrobe again:( I'm now more of a "medium" than "small" on shirts and pants. The up-side is that I have miraculously gotten better curves on my hips, no more skinny legs and arms and i'm filling up my bras much better now! ;) The down-side is that I fear that one day my tummy will be bulging more than my boobs! That would be very, very sad. Is there such a thing that could be done to lessen tummy bulge without exercising or dieting, AND without ever decreasing my boobies' size? Hmmm. I'd rather starve myself than exercise. That's how lazy and exercise-abhorrent I am.

HEAT

It is so bleepin' hot these days!!! As in!!! The super duper hottest that I felt was last Saturday. Perspiration was literally gushing on my forehead even when I was just lying down on my bed! Grabeeeeeeh. Made me wish I was at the office's aircon haven.

In addition to the fact that I have gained weight, I have also been shopping for short-sleeved polo shirts for work because it's still hot pa rin inside the office despite the aircon. If only one could go to work in a bikini... hmmm. I am so tempted to cut my hair reaaaally short (think Demi Moore in Ghost) but I know a short hairdo would look disastrous on me.

HALE

I sooooo love HALE (of Broken Sonnet fame). I sooo love their debut album. I bought it as soon as I found out that they had a second single out (The Day You Said Goodnight). An unreleased single that I also love is track 9 "Underneath the Waves". The melody reminds me of Incubus' Wish You Were Here. They are reaaaally good. Not to sound judgemental or anything, but I really like Pinoy bands who sound American. I mean, they sing/pronounce the lyrics in an American English kind of way and the melody of their songs don't sound like your typical Pinoy rock. Their album inlay has nice photos and lyrics printed on these opaque white sheets. Nicely done. Love 'em love 'em. I hope I can see one of their gigs soon. Is the vocalist cute? He seems cute on the Broken Sonnet vid. (A bit off-tangent: Is Spongecola's vocalist cute? He also seems cute on the KLSP vid.)

~* LIFEHOUSE IS BACK! *~

Lifehouse has a new single and I loved it the first time I heard it weeks ago. I just luuuv Jason Wade's voice. Now THAT is the kind of singing voice that I would love to hear serenading me or lulling me softly to sleep (think: "Everything", "Somewhere in Between", "Breathing", "Hanging by a Moment", "You Belong to Me" )... *sigh* I best remember "Everything" when it was used as a soundtrack in Smallville's Season 1 episode 2 (if I'm not mistaken... I watched a DVD of the pilot episode back-to-back with the second ep. So it's either in the start of the 2nd ep or the end of the pilot ep.) "You Belong to Me" is *surprise* in the Shrek OST (part one). My fave Lifehouse love songs are in the No Name Face album which I am currently looking for (to no avail. hmp.) at Tower Records & Music One. I actually have the mp3s of their songs (even acoustic ones which just shows how nice Jason's husky voice is *awww*) and have bought a *gasp* pirated version of that album waaaay back but the sucky disc skips now so I want to get the real album for my CD collection.

Jason Wade used to be cute back in his "Hanging by a Moment" days... I saw the vid of "You and Me"... he's all grown up now but I think he lost his boyish cuteness :( And I don't like his hair now.

What day is it
And in what month
This clock never seemed so alive
I can’t keep up and I can’t back down
I’ve been losing so much time

Cause it’s you and me and all of the people
Nothing to do, nothing to lose
And it’s you and me and all of the people and
I don’t know why I can’t keep my eyes off of you

All of the things that I want to say
Just aren’t coming out right
I’m tripping on words, you got my head spinning
I don’t know where to go from here

Cause it’s you and me and all of the people
With nothing to do, nothing to prove
And it’s you and me and all of the people and
I don’t why I can’t keep my eyes off you

Something about you now
I can’t quite figure out
Everything she does is beautiful
Everything she does is right

Cause it’s you and me and all of the people
With nothing to do, nothing to lose
And it’s you and me and all of the people and
I don’t know why I can’t keep my eyes off of ...

You and me and all of the people
With nothing to do nothin to prove and
It’s you and me and all of the people and
I don’t why I can’t keep my eyes off of you

What day is it
And in what month
This clock never seemed so alive
